Before we dive into the differences between BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Dermal Fillers, please note that prior to your first injectables appointment, a consultation is required. The required consultation fee of $75 will be credited to your first completed treatment. During your consultation, your skincare provider will review any concerns you may have regarding wrinkles, fine lines, creases, and loss of volume. What Are BOTOX® and Dysport® Used For?
BOTOX® and Dysport® are used to reduce specific muscle activity which decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Both of these products are injected into specific muscles to relax them which causes the wrinkles to flatten and your skin to become more smooth.
BOTOX® and Dysport® are both botulism toxin type A products but they are produced by difference manufactures. You cannot go wrong with either of these which is why we offer them at Kissed Peach. If you choose to go the toxin route, our team will help you decide which is best for your skin and budget.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are different from BOTOX® and Dysport® in that they do not interfere with muscle movement. They instead are injected under the skin to create fullness or volume in an area of depletion. They are referred to as filler because they “fill up” space and give you a more contoured appearance. Fillers are generally used in the lips, the nasolabial folds (the creases in your skin extending from both sides of your nose to the corners of your mouth), the under eyes, and in the cheeks.
Which Should You Choose?
BOTOX® and Dysport® are better for dynamic lines while fillers address volume loss and folds. If you want your area of concern to look plumper, filler would be the best option. If you want to focus on smoothing fine lines or wrinkles, BOTOX® and Dysport® are probably the better choices.
